Many people have the dishwasher as a great ally. However, in many cases a pre-wash is necessary. Especially in the case of pots and pans, where, unfortunately, it is not uncommon for certain foods to stick to the bottom, forming a dirt that is very difficult to remove. Perhaps we have been distracted for a moment and the sauce has burned. Or we may have been careless when answering the phone.
In most cases, the food can be saved, but the pot with the burnt bottom will give us headaches.
To prevent burnt food from sticking to pots and pans, here's a nifty trick few people use. We always try to clean it with Grandma's old method of soaking it in hot water. But few people know that there is another alternative that we can apply before cooking to prevent this disaster.
Let's start by saying that the system we are going to explain works with stainless steel pots and pans. So let's take a closer look at what it is. The pot is placed on the fire. Once the bottom of the pot has warmed up a bit, pour in a layer of coconut oil, trying to spread it evenly across the surface. At this point, add some fine salt and, with a piece of kitchen paper, wipe the excess oil and salt from the pot. This will create a kind of protective film. Once this is done, we are ready to start cooking.
Keep in mind that this treatment is not permanent, it is only valid for a single use. Therefore, we will have to repeat it every time we start cooking.
