One of the advantages of Android TV devices is that, despite the customization layer, it is still Android. The Google Play app store is more limited, but we can get the most out of it by simply installing APK apps.
By not including a browser, installing the applications can be a tedious process, but fortunately there are methods that make the job easier. This application called Send Files To TV is the easiest and most immediate application to use that we have found.

The application must be installed both on the device from which we are going to send files and on the receiver (Android TV). The application is found in the Play Store for Android TV under the name of Send Files to TV, as well as in Google Play for mobile phones and in SourceForge in case we want the application for Windows computers. According to the application's website, there is also a version of the app in development for Mac, but it is not yet available.

Once downloaded, we select RECEIVE on the television, which will put the television in reception mode.
On our mobile or computer we open the application and select SEND to send. A file browser will appear to select the file we want to send. Once selected, the Android TV device connected to our network will appear. We select it and it will begin to be sent.
The application submission process will appear on the television screen. It should be noted that when sending it from the local network, the speed transfer is very fast, regardless of your Internet connection (Wi-Fi coverage would matter, as the router is the intermediary between our devices).
And that's how easy the process is, now you can send yourself all those files, applications, images, videos, whatever you want, but with the utmost ease.
